The Fort McMurray Giants (4-9) blew out the Edmonton Prospects 7-1 on Tuesday at Telus Field after pouring on four runs in the third inning.

The Fort McMurray Giants scored in the third on a two-run single by Dugan Shirer, a two-run single by Shirer, an RBI double by Gates Jared, and an RBI double by Cory Meyer.

Shirer got a hit in each of his three at bats.

The Fort McMurray Giants relied on James (Isaac) Mullins to eat up innings en route to the win. (Isaac) Mullins pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and four walks while striking out one.

Brenden Wiun ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
