Both the Fort McMurray Giants (1-2) and the Okotoks Dawgs (0-3) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Fort McMurray Giants that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 9-5 win at Seaman Stadium.

Kyle Blakeman racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Fort McMurray Giants. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Bruce Yari racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Okotoks Dawgs. He singled in the third and fifth innings and tripled in the seventh inning.

Adam Falcon improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Fort McMurray Giants. Falcon struck out three, walked one and gave up three hits.

Kyle Strickland (0-1) took the loss for the Okotoks Dawgs. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
