Llewellyn helps the Carolina Vipers down the Team Charlotte 6-3

The Carolina Vipers (18-8) beat the Team Charlotte (5-22) 6-3 on Wednesday at East Meck HS behind Andrew Llewellyn, who went 2-4 and hit a home run.

He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

The Team Charlotte's lineup had no answer for Kyle Peterson. The Team Charlotte managed just two hits off of Peterson, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Jacob Ruettgers pitched lights out for the Team Charlotte. Ruettgers gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Maustin Otterstatter improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Carolina Vipers. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked five and surrendered five hits.

Koon (0-2) took the loss for the Team Charlotte. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
