The Piedmont Pride (20-6) jumped out to an early lead on the Team Charlotte (6-20) and captured a 15-1 victory on Saturday at Winthrop University.

Thirteen runs in the first three innings allowed the Piedmont Pride to put the game away early.

An error, a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Justin Sparks, an RBI single by Sparks, an RBI single by Sparks, and an RBI single by Bailey Montoya in the first inning and a solo home run by Derek Horton during the second inning fueled the Piedmont Pride's offense early.

Horton racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Piedmont Pride.

The Team Charlotte's lineup had no answer for Andrew Corbitt. Corbitt gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Nathan Hendley (1-2) took the loss for the Team Charlotte. He allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked six and struck out two.
