The Team Charlotte (6-21) had a tough outing on Friday, as the Piedmont Pride (20-6) dominated in a 12-5 win in seven innings at East Meck HS.
A home run by Derek Horton helped the Piedmont Pride score four runs in the fourth. The Piedmont Pride had two hits in the inning.
Horton racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Piedmont Pride.
Xavier LeGrant reached base four times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first inning.
Noah Watts improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Piedmont Pride. He allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings. Watts struck out four, walked two and gave up four hits.
Darrell Render (0-3) took the loss for the Team Charlotte. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked six and struck out five.
