Both the Carolina Vipers (14-8) and the Concord Weavers (8-14) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Carolina Vipers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-1 win at Concord HS.
The Carolina Vipers relied on Tyler Henry to eat up innings en route to the win. Henry allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.
A bright spot for the Concord Weavers in the defeat was Blake Hamilton, who allowed only three runs while striking out five.
Hamilton (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
