Four first-inning runs helped the Lake Norman Copperheads (8-13) to an 8-6 win over the Concord Weavers (7-13) at Hough High School on Saturday.

The Lake Norman Copperheads scored in the first on a two-run double by Steven Oakley, a sacrifice fly by Pierce Suttles, and an RBI single by Eric Gilbert.

Oakley racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Lake Norman Copperheads.

Nick Weston did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Concord Weavers, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning.

Tyler Baker improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Harrison Bell was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
