Four first-inning runs helped the Piedmont Pride (16-5) to a 6-3 win over the SBA Bones (13-8) at Winthrop University on Saturday.

The Piedmont Pride scored in the first on an RBI single by Justin Sparks, an RBI single by Mike Morgan, and a two-run single by Zach Shank.

Jonathan Embry was hot from the plate for the Piedmont Pride. Embry went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.

The SBA Bones couldn't get anything going so long as Willis Dobison was on the hill. Dobison gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Carson White racked up two RBIs on one hit for the SBA Bones. He tripled in the fourth inning.

Gage Hinson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
