The Team Charlotte (3-14) didn't stand a chance on Wednesday, as the Piedmont Pride (13-4) captured a blowout 13-6 win at Winthrop University.
The Piedmont Pride scored three runs in the fifth on the Piedmont Pride scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Ryan Kahl, a two-run single by Kahl, and a groundout by Trey Logan.
Kahl racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Piedmont Pride.
The Team Charlotte had no answer for Arien Seymour, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Seymour held the Team Charlotte hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Tim Mansfield paced the Team Charlotte at the plate. Mansfield went 2-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Zach English improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Piedmont Pride. He allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings. English struck out four, walked none and gave up three hits.
Nathan Hendley couldn't get it done on the hill for the Team Charlotte, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked five and struck out one.
