A superb effort by David Duncavey hoisted the Concord Weavers (3-9) to a 9-0 win in seven innings over the Team Charlotte on Saturday at Concord HS.
Duncavey struck out 11 hitters en route to the the Concord Weavers win. The Concord Weavers' pitcher gave up just two hits over seven shutout innings.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Concord Weavers to easily put away the Team Charlotte (3-10). An error during the first inning and an RBI single by Ryan Hickman, an RBI single by Jeremy Simpson, and a two-run double by Chandler Jenkins in the second inning fueled the Concord Weavers' offense early.
The Concord Weavers' Jenkins was perfect at the dish, going 2-2.
Matthew Reitz was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked two and struck out two.
