Caleb Robinson had two extra base hits, sparking the Piedmont Pride (6-2) to a 5-0 victory in seven innings over the Carolina Vipers (6-3) on Saturday at Charlotte Latin.

He doubled in the first and fifth innings.

The Piedmont Pride had no answer for Jarrett Thompson, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Thompson held the Piedmont Pride hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Daniel Sweeney improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Piedmont Pride. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered five hits.
