Tyler Henry held the Concord Weavers (0-5) scoreless for six innings to boost the Carolina Vipers (5-0) to a 8-1 victory.

Henry allowed six hits, one walk and struck out seven.

The Carolina Vipers' bats came to life in the fifth inning. The Concord Weavers had no answer as the Carolina Vipers scored five runs. The Carolina Vipers scored in the fifth on a two-run single by Alec Mueller, a double by Brett Branton, a hit by pitch, a two-run double by Craig McLane, and a single by Bowe Behymer.

McLane got a hit in each of his three at bats.

Kyle Kadlub (0-2) took the loss for the Concord Weavers. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.

The Carolina Vipers' Branton, Mueller, Justin Kunz and McLane combined for 11 hits and five RBIs.
