Both the Carolina Vipers (8-3) and the Team Charlotte (3-7) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the Carolina Vipers that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-4 win.

Justin Kunz racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Carolina Vipers. He singled in the third and fifth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Nathan Hendley was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Carolina Vipers batters and allowing two runs.

Cameron Hudson-Marshall was hot from the plate for the Team Charlotte. Hudson-Marshall went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Jarrett Thompson got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over two innings. Thompson struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.

Jerod Jobst (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked two and struck out one.
