Brett Branton went 2-3, sparking the Carolina Vipers (11-6) to a 2-1 victory in seven innings over the Lake Norman Copperheads (6-10) on Friday at Charlotte Latin.

The Lake Norman Copperheads' lineup had no answer for Braden Larkey. The Lake Norman Copperheads managed just three hits off of the the Carolina Vipers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Hunter Dodson improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Carolina Vipers. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

John Todd (2-1) took the loss for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
