The Piedmont Pride make the most of 6 hits in 7-5 victory over the Concord Weavers

The Piedmont Pride (1-1) and the Concord Weavers (0-2) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Piedmont Pride that eventually took advantage of them in a 7-5 win at Concord HS.

Chandler Redmond put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Piedmont Pride. He homered in the second inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

It was a good day at the plate for the Concord Weavers' Jeremy Simpson. Simpson went 3-4 and scored three runs. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Zach English recorded his first win of the year for the Piedmont Pride. He allowed two runs over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Harrison Bell was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked four and struck out one.
