Brett Zaziski knocked in four runs, helping the Manitoba North Stars (1-1) to a 9-6 victory over the Alberta Grizzly (1-2) on Thursday at Palm Springs HS Varsity.

Cipriano Garza brought the heat against the Alberta Grizzly during his outing. Garza held the Alberta Grizzly hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Despite the loss, the Alberta Grizzly's Cristian Torres dominated the Manitoba North Stars' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Carlos Cartagena racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Alberta Grizzly. He singled in the first and second innings.

Collin Fishman (0-1) took the loss for the Alberta Grizzly. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out six.
