Saturday was a great day for Colten Barnes, as Barnes pitched nine innings to carry the Pierce (15-12) to a 5-1 victory over the Tacoma (21-7) at Mt Tahoma High School .
Josh Palmquist was hot from the plate for the Pierce. Palmquist went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Taylor Adams had a hot bat for the Tacoma. Adams went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
Dustin Wilson (3-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
