The West Virginia Miners take out the Butler BlueSox with help from Levine, 4-2

The West Virginia Miners (17-12) beat the Butler BlueSox (14-16) 4-2 on Wednesday at Kelly Automotive Park behind Tanner Levine, who had two extra base hits.

He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Michael Syrett picked up the win for the West Virginia Miners. Syrett allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Pavin Parks reached base three times in the game for the Butler BlueSox. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Zachary Patterson brought the heat against the West Virginia Miners during his outing. Patterson held the West Virginia Miners hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Shawn Holman couldn't get it done on the hill for the Butler BlueSox, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The West Virginia Miners were sparked by Nick Delgado and Levine, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
