The Quincy Gems (7-2) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-3 to the Terre Haute Rex (5-5) on Saturday.

While the Quincy Gems led until the sixth inning, the Terre Haute Rex worked their way back and took the lead on a single by Justin Kirkpatrick.

Dalton Board led the Terre Haute Rex's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the second and fifth innings.

The Quincy Gems had no answer for Triston Polley, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Polley held the Quincy Gems hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Jack Holden reached base three times. He singled in the first inning.

Connor Briare (0-1) took the loss for the Quincy Gems. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
