Kaleb Ort kept the Schaumburg Boomers (16-17) off the board during his six innings of work and the Joliet Slammers (20-14) beat the Schaumburg Boomers, 12-4.

Ort struck out nine and allowed one walk and three hits.

Six runs in the first three innings helped the Joliet Slammers blow out the Schaumburg Boomers. A two-run single by Denzel Richardson, a single by Joe Staley, a solo home run by Phillip Bates, a single by Alfredo Rodriguez, and a solo home run by Boo Vazquez during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Joliet Slammers.

Staley racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Joliet Slammers.

Gunnar Kines couldn't get it done on the bump for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out five.
