The Schaumburg Boomers (15-14) jumped on the Traverse City Beach Bums (9-19) early on their way to a 9-5 win on Wednesday at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium, scoring eight runs in the first inning.

The Schaumburg Boomers scored in the first on an RBI double by Dusty Robinson, a two-run double by Paul Kronenfeld, a two-run home run by Chris Robinson, and a three-run home run by Josh Gardiner.

Gardiner racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers.

Kagen Hopkins picked up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. Hopkins allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Dylan Stoops couldn't get it done on the hill for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in one inning, walked none and struck out one.
