Mitch Elliott was cold coming off the bench, but Elliott warmed up quickly as Elliott stroked a key pinch-hit double in the seven to lead the Normal CornBelters (9-14) to a 10-3 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts (16-7) on Sunday at The Corn Crib.

With the score tied at three in the seventh inning, Elliott came to the plate and doubled.

Dillon Haupt hit two home runs for the Normal CornBelters. Haupt went 3-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Haupt homered in the second inning.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Normal CornBelters in the seventh. In the inning the Normal CornBelters scored seven runs. The Normal CornBelters scored in the seventh on an RBI double by Mike Fish, an error, an RBI single by Dylan Kelly, an RBI double by Aaron Dudley, a two-run home run by Francisco Carrillo, an RBI single by Fish, and an RBI single by Fish.

Chris Carmain handled the Windy City ThunderBolts' lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Carmain allowed two earned runs on seven hits and one walk over 6 2/3 innings.

Carrillo improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Chris Chigas (1-2) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
