Monday was a great day for Max Duval, as Duval struck out 10 batters to carry the Evansville Otters (10-6) to a 10-4 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies (9-7) at GCS Ballpark.
Chris Breen blasted two home runs for the Evansville Otters. Breen went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Breen homered in the fifth and seventh innings.
The Evansville Otters blew out the Gateway Grizzlies thanks to nine hits, including zero extra base hits. And a home run by Breen helped the Evansville Otters score five runs in the fifth. The Evansville Otters had two hits in the inning.
Craig Massoni was hot from the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. Massoni went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Corey Kimes was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked three and struck out four.
