A walk-off two-run blast from Johnny Eierman brought home the winning run for the Windy City ThunderBolts (12-3) in a 6-5 victory over the Joliet Slammers at Standard Bank Stadium on Sunday.
Eierman racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He singled in the third and seventh innings and homered in the ninth inning.
Marc Flores had two extra-base hits for the Joliet Slammers (7-9). He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Cameron Giannini got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over one inning. Giannini struck out one, walked two and gave up two hits.
Kevin Simmons (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
