Trevor Richards held the Normal CornBelters (2-10) scoreless for six innings to boost the Gateway Grizzlies (7-5) to a 1-0 victory.

Richards allowed four hits, two walks and struck out two.

The Gateway Grizzlies were led by Blake Brown's hitting. Brown went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Despite the loss, the Normal CornBelters' Michael Schweiss dominated the Gateway Grizzlies' batters, giving up one run and striking out eight.
