It took 10 innings, but the Schaumburg Boomers (3-9) managed to put away the Joliet Slammers (7-6) 9-6 on Wednesday at Silver Cross Field.
Paul Kronenfeld racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth innings.
Scott Schultz pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out five.
Dexter Price recorded his first win of the year for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed two runs over 1 1/3 innings. Price struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.
Brent Choban (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
