Andrew Heck had two extra base hits as the Washington Wild Things (4-4) took home a 4-2 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (6-1) at CONSOL Energy Park on Saturday.
He doubled in the fifth inning and tripled in the seventh inning.Matt Fraudin kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Lake Erie Crushers batters. Fraudin allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over six innings.
Jose Barraza was hot from the plate for the Lake Erie Crushers. Barraza went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.
The Washington Wild Things couldn't get anything going so long as Steve Hagen was on the hill. The Washington Wild Things managed just three hits off of the the Lake Erie Crushers' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.
