Both the Schaumburg Boomers (1-1) and the Evansville Otters (1-1) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-7 win at Bosse Field.

Ino Patron racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

The Evansville Otters had no answer for Kagen Hopkins, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Evansville Otters managed just two hits off of the the Schaumburg Boomers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Rolando Gomez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Tyler Vail couldn't get it done on the hill for the Evansville Otters, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out six.
