Steven Patterson went 2-4, helping the Traverse City Beach Bums (1-1) to a 4-1 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (1-1) on Saturday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Luke Barker brought the heat against the Southern Illinois Miners during his outing. The Southern Illinois Miners managed just one hit off of Barker, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Southern Illinois Miners' Jarett Miller dominated the Traverse City Beach Bums' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.

Francisco Rosario did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Southern Illinois Miners, reaching base three times. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Dylan Stoops improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed one run over five innings. Stoops struck out three, walked three and gave up four hits.

Miller (0-1) took the loss for the Southern Illinois Miners.
