The Cincinnati Steam make the most of 5 hits in 5-2 victory over the Lake Erie Monarchs

The Cincinnati Steam (13-6) and the Lake Erie Monarchs (7-13) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Cincinnati Steam that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-2 win at McLeary Fld (Western Hills HS).

The fact that the Cincinnati Steam grouped all of their runs into the eighth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

The Cincinnati Steam were led by Roger Danison's hitting. Danison went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Brad Kirschner handled the Lake Erie Monarchs' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Kirschner allowed one earned run, three hits and no walks over six innings.

Michael Brdar was solid at the plate for the Lake Erie Monarchs. Brdar went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.

Evan Korson got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed one run over three innings. Korson struck out one, walked two and gave up three hits.

Chris Modrzynski was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
