The Richmond Jazz (10-26) failed to take advantage of Brennan Laird's effort at the plate on Tuesday, losing 11-4 to the Lima Locos (25-12) at McBride Stadium.
Laird blasted two home runs for the Richmond Jazz. Laird went 2-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Laird homered in the first and third innings.
The Lima Locos' bats came to life in the fifth inning. The Richmond Jazz had no answer as the Lima Locos scored eight runs. The Lima Locos scored in the fifth on a two-run double by Ross Adolph, an error, an error, a two-run single by Logan Quimuyog, and a two-run triple by David Chabut.
Chabut racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Lima Locos.
Connor Curlis recorded his fifth win of the year for the Lima Locos. He allowed three runs over five innings. Curlis struck out three, walked two and gave up five hits.
Adam Cornwell (0-2) took the loss for the Richmond Jazz. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked three and struck out two.
