The Cincinnati Steam (3-0) and the S Ohio Copperheads (2-1) both had scoring chances on Tuesday, but it was the Cincinnati Steam that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 5-3 win at Bob Wren Stadium.

Kyle Orloff did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Cincinnati Steam, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third innings and homered in the eighth inning.

Shane Smith struck out three, paving the way for a the Cincinnati Steam win. The Cincinnati Steam's pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits.

A bright spot for the S Ohio Copperheads in the defeat was Tyler Johnson, who allowed only three runs while striking out five.

Johnson (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
