The Licking County Settlers (19-16) jumped out to an early lead on the Richmond Jazz (9-26) and captured a 10-3 victory on Saturday at Don Edwards Stadium.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Licking County Settlers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A groundout by Luke Phillips during the first inning and a two-run double by Phillips in the second inning fueled the Licking County Settlers' offense early.

Hunter Nance racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Licking County Settlers. He singled in the third, fifth, and eighth innings.

Kaleb Kirk kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Richmond Jazz batters. Kirk allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings.

TJ Satterly couldn't get it done on the bump for the Richmond Jazz, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked five, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
