The Cincinnati Steam make the most of 9 hits in 6-5 victory over the Licking County Settlers

Both the Cincinnati Steam (2-0) and the Licking County Settlers (0-2) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Cincinnati Steam that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-5 win at Don Edwards Stadium.

Cole Murphy had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Evan Flax boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Licking County Settlers. He singled in the second, third, and seventh innings.

Gus Graham improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Cincinnati Steam. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Bryan Cruse (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Cincinnati Steam were sparked by Murphy and Kyle Orloff, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.
