Thursday was a great day for Logan Heffernan, as Heffernan allowed three hits to carry the Lorain County Ironmen (5-6) to a 5-4 victory over the Lake Erie Monarchs at Flat Rock Field.

Rees Rua racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Lorain County Ironmen. He singled in the first and second innings and homered in the ninth inning.

Ross Haffey racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Lake Erie Monarchs (4-7). He homered in the ninth inning.

Caleb Smith put together a nice outing. Smith held the Lorain County Ironmen hitless over 3 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.

Robert Zenas was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
