An impressive effort by Ross Haffey spurred the Lake Erie Monarchs (10-16) to a 9-7 win over the Lima Locos (19-8) on Sunday at Simmons Field.
Haffey blasted two home runs for the Lake Erie Monarchs. Haffey went 3-4 in the game with four RBIs and four runs scored. Haffey homered in the second and sixth innings.
The Lima Locos' lineup had no answer for Jordan Kesson. Kesson gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out six during his three innings of work.
Matt Smithwick had two extra-base hits for the Lima Locos. He doubled in the first inning.
Casey Mulcahy couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lima Locos, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
