An ace performance by Mathew Hudson lifted the Grand Lake Mariners (19-16) to a 4-0 win over the Lorain County Ironmen on Thursday at Montgomery Fld (Eastview Pk).

Hudson racked up 12 strikeouts in the the Grand Lake Mariners win. The Grand Lake Mariners' pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only six hits.

It was a good day at the plate for the Grand Lake Mariners' Tyler Schmidt. Schmidt went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the eighth inning.

Milo Sklar ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
