The Torrington Titans (16-22) and the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (17-22) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Torrington Titans that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-5 win at Fuessenich Park.

The Torrington Titans were led by Cooper Mrowka's hitting. Mrowka went 2-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

Ricky Surum put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth and seventh innings, and singled in the first and ninth innings.

Keith Grant improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Torrington Titans. Grant struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Steven Colella was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
