Chase Smartt went 2-4, sparking the Brockton Rox (16-21) to a 1-0 victory over the Worcester Bravehearts (26-10) on Saturday at Campanelli Stadium.
He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.James Muse pitched lights out for the Brockton Rox. Muse held the Worcester Bravehearts hitless over five innings, allowed no earned runs, walked five and struck out nine.
A bright spot for the Worcester Bravehearts in the defeat was Greg Stagani, who allowed only one run while striking out seven.
Austin Bollinger recorded his first win of the year for the Brockton Rox. Bollinger struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Stagani (3-2) took the loss for the Worcester Bravehearts.
