Hart stars as the Seacoast Mavericks defeat the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, 12-4

A superb effort by Michael Hart spurred the Seacoast Mavericks (13-6) to a 12-4 win over the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (7-12) on Tuesday at Vineyard Baseball Park.

Hart hit two home runs for the Seacoast Mavericks. Hart went 2-4 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Hart homered in the first and fourth innings.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Seacoast Mavericks in the ninth. In the inning the Seacoast Mavericks scored seven runs. The Seacoast Mavericks scored in the ninth on an RBI home run by Jayln Dorsey, a solo home run by Cam Orologio, an RBI single by Brandan Fox, a sacrifice fly by Hart, , an error, and a two-run double by AJ DiFillipo.

Matt Gill put together a nice outing. Gill gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.

A bright spot for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks in the defeat was Dylan Grove, who allowed only two runs while striking out seven.

Mac Curran (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Seacoast Mavericks easily handled the Marthas Vineyard Sharks pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored.
