The Marthas Vineyard Sharks (2-0) beat the Worcester Bravehearts (2-1) 5-2 on Saturday at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto behind Gage Lanning (Herkimer College), who had two extra base hits.

Steven Colella (UMASS Dartmouth) picked up the win for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. Colella pitched five innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out four.

Tom Walraven (New Haven) went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Worcester Bravehearts. He singled in the third and sixth innings.

Mike Bruemmel (Wheaton College) (0-1) took the loss for the Worcester Bravehearts. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks were sparked by Grant Lumberton (Monmouth University) and Lanning, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.
