Both the Torrington Titans (2-1) and the Brockton Rox (0-2) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Torrington Titans that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 9-4 win at Fuessenich Park.

Mikey Arman (Kenyon College) racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Torrington Titans. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the eighth inning.

Connor Lewis (Hartford) brought the heat against the Brockton Rox during his outing. Lewis held the Brockton Rox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Jack Lambrecht (UCONN) got on base three times in the game for the Brockton Rox. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third and ninth innings.

Mike Schettino (New Haven) improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Torrington Titans. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. Schettino struck out five, walked two and gave up six hits.

Bryce Verplank (Oklahoma State) (0-1) took the loss for the Brockton Rox. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
