The California Bees (7-10) beat the Klamath Falls Gems (7-7) 5-4 in seven innings on Saturday at Kiger Stadium behind Donovan Buechs, who had two extra base hits.

Nick Hermes had a hot bat for the Klamath Falls Gems. Hermes went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third innings and tripled in the fifth inning.

Sam Reinertsen improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the California Bees. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Reinertsen struck out five, walked none and gave up nine hits.

Bryan Hathaway couldn't get it done on the mound for the Klamath Falls Gems, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

Max Werner, Buechs and Roman Satroplus helped lead the California Bees. They combined for seven hits and three RBIs.
