The Mesa CC jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-3 to the Spokane (10-4) on Thursday.

The Spokane took the lead in the sixth inning on an error.

The Spokane relied on Michele Strauss to eat up innings en route to the win. Strauss allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

V. Macias was charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
