Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

Early lead gives the Pierce easy victory over the Green River, 11-2

Story by Narrative Science.

The Pierce (28-13) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Green River (5-33), recording an 11-2 victory on Sunday at Heritage Park.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Pierce to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Jacob Winn, a two-run triple by Carter Johnson, and an RBI single by Gunnar Schubert in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Pierce.

Rayven Kahana had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Keenan Lum got the win for the Pierce thanks to nine strikeouts. Lum allowed one earned run on seven hits and no walks over six innings.

Taylor Scarvie ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.
