The Pierce (26-13) jumped out to an early lead on the Green River (5-31) and captured an 11-1 victory on Saturday at Mt Tahoma High School .
With eight runs in the first three innings, the Pierce left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A three-run double by Mac McCarty and a groundout by Josh Palmquist during the first inning and a two-run single by Andrew Barrera in the second inning helped the Pierce put some runs on the board early.McCarty racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Pierce.
Colten Barnes's nine strikeouts helped the Pierce to the victory. Barnes allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk over six innings.
Andrew Snook couldn't get it done on the mound for the Green River, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked four and struck out one.
