The Treasure Valley offense too much for the Yakima Valley in 23-5 rout

The Treasure Valley (17-22) jumped out to an early lead on the Yakima Valley (5-28) and captured a 23-5 victory on Friday at Heinz/Ore-Ida Regional Softball.

Twenty-three runs in the first three innings allowed the Treasure Valley to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Matti Chavez, an RBI single by Madison Wallace, an RBI single by Wallace, an RBI single by Bailee Mills, an RBI single by Mills, a sacrifice fly by Kenzie Barrera, an RBI double by Jordynne Ketchum, a wild pitch, a three-run home run by Jessica Praegitzer, and an error during the first inning and a solo home run by Barrera, a two-run double by Cheyenne Myers, a two-run double by Myers, a sacrifice fly by Elise Shenk, a two-run home run by Chavez, a two-run error, and an RBI single by Myers in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Treasure Valley.

Chavez racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Treasure Valley.

It was a good day at the plate for the Yakima Valley's Taylor Rath. Rath went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the third inning.

Even though Mills allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his eleventh of the season. Mills struck out five, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Beth Anderson was charged with his sixteenth loss of the year. He allowed 16 runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.

The Treasure Valley easily handled the Yakima Valley pitching as eight hitters combined for 19 hits, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
