Michele Strauss carried the Spokane (21-13) to a 8-0 victory over the Treasure Valley on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College with a strong game at the plate and on the mound.
Strauss reached base two times in the game for the Spokane. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.
The Treasure Valley (14-22) had no answer for Strauss, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Treasure Valley managed just one hit off of Strauss, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out one during his five innings of work.
The Spokane's bats came to life in the second inning. The Spokane's bats caught fire leading to eight runs. The Spokane scored in the second on a solo home run by Strauss, a two-run single by Erika Hall, an RBI single by Josie Schultz, an RBI single by Kylee Andreason, , and a two-run single by Courtney Kent.
Francesca Rodriquez (3-9) took the loss for the Treasure Valley. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked four and struck out none.
