The SW Oregon fall to the Mt. Hood 7-3

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Shevan DeFreitas could carry the SW Oregon (25-11) past the Mt. Hood (28-8) at Saints Baseball Field on Saturday as the SW Oregon suffered a 7-3 defeat.

DeFreitas racked up two RBIs on two hits for the SW Oregon. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.

DeFreitas brought the heat against the Mt. Hood during his outing. The Mt. Hood managed just two hits off of the the SW Oregon's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Darian Lindsey had two extra-base hits for the Mt. Hood. He homered in the first inning, singled in the second innings, and doubled in the sixth inning.

Kayla Byers kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the SW Oregon batters. Byers allowed one earned run, six hits and four walks over six innings.

Lauren Spencer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eighth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
