The Mt. Hood get key pinch-hit in 5-2 victory over the Clackamas

Reeghan Lehnert was cold coming off the bench, but Lehnert warmed up quickly as Lehnert stroked a key pinch-hit single in the six to lead the Mt. Hood (27-8) to a 5-2 win over the Clackamas (28-9) on Tuesday at Clackamas Community College Sof.

With the Mt. Hood leading by one in the sixth inning, Lehnert came to the plate and singled.

The Mt. Hood came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Clackamas early. The Mt. Hood scored in the first on an RBI single by Rachel Rutledge and a two-run home run by Megan Marcy.

Marcy racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Mt. Hood.

Kayla Byers racked up 13 strikeouts in the the Mt. Hood win. Byers allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings.

Emily Marchbanks was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
